On March 1, 2011, ex-doctor Raymond Cook was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, felony death by motor vehicle and driving while impaired in September of 2009, which lead to the death of Elena Shapiro, a dancer for the Carolina Ballet. While Cook is serving up to four years in prison for the deadly DWI crash, the former doctor has been taking part in a work- and home-release program.
David Daggett spoke with WFMY CBS 2 earlier this week to explain how the ex-doctor is getting “out of jail” during the day for work-related reasons as well as getting 40 hours a month at home with his family.
