He is a past president of a local United Way, being a member of the governing board for six years, and he volunteers for other nonprofit organizations. He and his wife have four awesome children, whom James coaches in their various sports teams, including baseball, soccer, and basketball. James loves being outside and enjoying all parts of North Carolina’s natural environment with his family as an avid skier, hiker, cyclist, runner, triathlete and, when given the chance with his wonderful wife, tennis player. He is an active member of his church, serving currently in the children’s ministry.
