Are Bicyclists in North Carolina Required to Use Lights at Night?

Are bicyclists in North Carolina required to use lights at night?

Yes. When riding at night, bicycles must use proper light equipment. Lights are required from sunset to sunrise. A front light must be visible from 300 feet ahead, and a rear right or red reflector must be visible from 200 feet. Visibility is very important at all times, for bike safety.

Very happy with the results Daggett Shuler and the entire staff got for me from my workers’ compensation, disability, and my personal injury cases. Strongly recommend they handle any legal needs you may have.
