Safe Sober Prom Night Design Contest Winner Joins David Daggett on FOX8

David Daggett and Angelina Rice on WGHP

Spring weather is returning to the Triad, and that means Prom Season is here. For the 29th year in a row, the team at Daggett Shuler Law is busy preparing for another successful Safe Sober Prom Night. Attorney partner David Daggett visited the set of FOX8 on Tuesday, April 2nd to spread the message of how to celebrate safely.

Joining David was Angelina Rice. Angelina—a senior at the Career Center and Walkertown High School— won the 2019 Safe Sober Prom Night T-Shirt Design Contest. Watch the interview:

About Angelina’s Design

Angelina’s winning design was chosen from over 150 entries submitted by students from all across the Triad. In recognition of her efforts, David and partner Griff Shuler notified Angelina of her win with a surprise presentation during her Graphic Arts II class.

Angelina’s artwork and name will now appear on 15,000 t-shirts given to area juniors and seniors who sign the Safe Sober Prom Night Pledge. In recognition of Angelina’s achievement, she received a $500 scholarship.

Angelina received the first shirt with her design to come off the press, professionally framed for display. A detailed press release on the award presentation is available here.

For the second year in a row, Safe Sober Prom Night presented a $500 grant to the classroom of the winning student. Graphic Arts teacher Stephanie Messer plans to use the money on classroom supplies, ensuring her students have the tools they need to succeed.
