On Saturday, March 23rd, attorney Griff Shuler appeared on Triad Today to discuss Operation Triad Play, an exciting new community program from Beyond Sports NC and sponsored by Daggett Shuler. Appearing alongside Griff were Micheala Amidon and Mike Kennedy, co-founders of Beyond Sports NC.
Beyond Sports NC, a sub-organization of NC Fusion, promotes kidsโ participation in sports of all types. Their mission is โTo help bring opportunities and resources to youth and schools to get more kids involved in sports by eliminating the financial barriers of sports by providing equipment, play opportunities, resources for coaches and mentors.โ
Operation Triad Play is a new program from Beyond Sports NC. First implemented in Greensboro, the program partners with police departments to stock squad cars with a variety of sports equipment. This equipment is then distributed to young people the officers encounter, whether itโs while on patrol or responding to a call. This encourages positive interactions with police officers, breaks down barriers, and provides a great opportunity for the officers to connect with the kids and the community at large.
Community support for Operation Triad Play is critical. Daggett Shuler is a proud sponsor of the program, and recently had an event where employees volunteered their time to assemble the bags of equipment and get them into the squad cars. Winston-Salem is the second city Operation Triad Play has been implemented in and they will be expanding into High Point soon. If youโd like to further Beyond Sports NCโs mission, they are always accepting volunteers. Get more information about volunteering for their great events on their website.
Later in the episode, Attorney David Daggett participated in the Roundtable discussion with Ogi Overman and Keith Grandberry. They talked about current news items and political issues.
