This year’s Kids for Kids Triathlon will take place on Saturday, July 9th at Brookberry Farm in Winston-Salem. Participating youngsters will be split into two groups, one for kids between 7 and 10 years old, and one for kids ages 11 to 14.

The Kids for Kids Triathlon is an annual community event right here in Winston-Salem that works to introduce kids to the sport of triathlon in a fun and safe environment. The 14th annual Kids for Kids Triathlon is just around the corner, and in a few short weeks local children between the ages of 7 and 14 will gather to run, bike and swim at this fun and friendly competition.

The Kids for Kids Triathlon encourages kids to get active and exercise, and it also benefits some wonderful local charities. Since the race began 14 years ago, Kids for Kids Triathlon has raised over $80,000 for children’s charities.

Last year, Kids for Kids Triathlon awarded a $2,000 check to the AJ Linville Foundation, which benefits children with special needs.

The younger age group will participate in a 100-yard swim, followed by a 3.1-mile bike ride and a 0.6-mile run. For the older age group, they will face a 200 yard swim, a 6.2 mile bike ride and a 1.2 mile run.
