Attorneys David Daggett and Griff Shuler joined Clemmons Mayor Mike Rogers on Triad Today to discuss the upcoming Smiley Triathlon Festival, a weekend of healthy fun, featuring the Kids for Kids Triathlon for ages 7-15.
On Saturday, July 20th, attorneys David Daggett and Griff Shuler appeared on Triad Today with the Mayor of Clemmons, NC, Mike Rogers, to talk about the upcoming Smiley Triathlon Festival.
The Smiley Triathlon Festival encompasses a weekend of healthy fun for all ages with the Kids for Kids Triathlon for young people aged 7-15 on Saturday, July 27th and the Smiley Sprint Triathlon for adults on Sunday, July 28th in the beautiful Clemmons West neighborhood. The weekend is named after Attorney David Daggettโs close friend Richard Smiley, a local fitness leader and triathlete who passed in 2016 due to brain cancer. Seeing that there were no triathlons taking place in the Triad area, David (an avid triathlete and multiple-time Ironman) created the Smiley Triathlon Festival to meet this need and honor his good friend.
Recently, Mayor Rogers read a proclamation at a council meeting declaring July 27th and 28th Smiley Triathlon Festival Weekend in Clemmons. This is a great honor for the festival, and the entire proclamation can be read here.
The Smiley Triathlon Festivalโs reach extends far and wide. Over 200 volunteers help to provide each athlete with a championship experience, and 750 athletes participate in the events. People have come from all over the country to experience the Smiley Triathlon Festival, and one family participating this year is even heading to NC from Canada. The weekend provides a healthy, safe environment for both new and experienced triathletes, young and old. Itโs an unforgettable experience.
Later in the episode, Attorney David Daggett participated in the Roundtable discussion with Ogi Overman and Keith Grandberry. They talked about current news items and political issues.
