7th ANNUAL RUSTY HARPE MEMORIAL TO FEATURE MAJOR RACES FOR THE NASCAR WHELEN MODIFIEDS AND WHELEN ALL AMERICAN SERIES

DAGGETT SHULER, ATTORNEYS AT LAW DOUBLES YOUR PLEASURE ON JULY 5TH

Modifieds and Late Models Headline “RHM” in 2013

(Asheboro, NC)  Just when you think things can’t get any better, the folks at Daggett Shuler, Attorneys At Law, Caraway Speedway and the Harpe family band together to bring you one of the biggest racing events of the 2013 season.  The 7th annual “Rusty Harpe Memorial” will feature something for everyone this year on Friday, July 5th.  The annual event remembers Rusty Harpe who was a long-time competitor at the .455 mile oval located in Asheboro, NC.

What started as a scheduling conflict with another NASCAR Whelen All American Series track has turned into an event that will remind area fans of the historic season-ending events that Caraway Speedway was famous for.  The 7th annual “RHM” will feature the ground pounding NWSMT Modifieds for their annual Independence Day weekend 150 lapper and a 171 lap feature that is part of Caraway’s NWAAS Late Model Stock Super Series on the same night.

“I think this is a great thing for area race fans”, said Rusty’s dad, Chip Harpe.  “Rusty was just getting his feet wet in a Modified when we lost him.  He had already established himself in the Late Model Stocks but really wanted to branch out to the Mods.  We continued his dream with the Modified team we have now with Dean Ward as the driver, and to have a chance to be involved in this event that combines Rusty’s love of racing in both divisions is something very special.  It is great to have David Daggett and Griff Shuler and their firm returning as the sponsor of this event.  Their involvement insures the continued success of the “Rusty Harpe Memorial” and makes it possible to give the fans a real bargain as a bonus”, Harpe said.

Race fans will be able to see over 400 laps of racing and two “features” for the price of one on this special night. The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour always brings the “best of the best” modified drivers with names like current series leader, George Brunnhozlel, III, Tim Brown, the Myers Brothers, Burt & Jason, John Smith, Brian Loftin and many more.  The annual “Rusty Harpe Memorial” features most of the Caraway Speedway regulars.  Late Model points leader, Ryan Wilson, heads a list that includes previous “RHM” winner Dan Moore, Robert Tyler, 2012 Caraway Champ, Mack Little, III plus several drivers chasing the NWAAS championship.  Tommy Lemmons. Jr., Lee Pulliam and several more in that group are also expected.  Also on tap are races for the Sportsman, Southern Modified Lights and Mini Stocks.

The 7th annual “Rusty Harpe Memorial” rolls off at 8:00 PM on Friday night, July 5th.  Admission is only $20.00 for adults for a double good night of racing action
