Police have arrested a 22-year-old North Carolina driver on several charges, including DWI and leaving the scene of an accident, following a 4 car collision in Greensboro. The accident occurred in the afternoon of Sunday, February 22nd on High Point Road near Colby Street. The driver and two other motorists involved in the accident were treated for injuries at a local hospital.
Police say that the driver was headed west on High Point Road when he sideswiped another car, causing a pileup that ultimately included 4 vehicles in total. Despite the fact that he caused severe damage to other vehicles and motorists, overturning his own car several times in the process, the driver attempted to flee the scene on foot before being apprehended by Police a short time later.
One of the injured drivers was a 66-year-old woman, who police have announced is currently in critical condition. The injuries sustained by a third motorist have not been released, although authorities have stated that they are non-life-threatening.
