Each year almost 6,000 infants in the United States are diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Down Syndrome continues to be the most common chromosomal disorder. One in every 700 infants is diagnosed with down Syndrome.
This past weekend, David Daggett, Griff Shuler and Dr. McNeil Cronin, MD, board member of the Piedmont Down Syndrome Support Network, appeared on the Triad Today show to discuss the upcoming 3-2-1 Deacon Dash and the local Piedmont Down Syndrome Support Network.
The 3-2-1 Deacon Dash is a local fundraising event hosted by the Piedmont Down Syndrome Support Network. It is a 5k race with an extra .11 mile added for a total distance of 3.21 to help raise awareness and support for individuals with Down Syndrome.
The Piedmont Down Syndrome Support Network is a local nonprofit that provides support and information to individuals with Down Syndrome and their families. They strive to support each other and enrich the lives of children all ages to reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.
