David Daggett Named Chair of the Greater Triad Board of the American Heart Association

At Daggett Shuler, serving our clients has always gone hand in hand with helping our community. That’s why we’re proud to share that our managing partner and community leader, Attorney David Daggett, has been named Chair of the Greater Triad Board of the American Heart Association (AHA).
A longtime supporter of the organization, David previously served as a board member and chaired the Association’s Cor Vitae Society, which recognizes dedicated philanthropists and advocates who help further the AHA’s mission of improving and saving lives. With this new leadership role, David is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of families throughout the Triad.
A Mission That Hits Close to Home
For David, supporting the American Heart Association’s mission is deeply personal.
In 2022, David’s family faced one of the most difficult moments of their lives when his son underwent life-saving open-heart surgery. The experience gave him a firsthand understanding of the importance of groundbreaking cardiovascular research, access to exceptional medical care, and organizations dedicated to improving patient outcomes.
“Watching our son undergo open-heart surgery changed our family forever,” David said. “It reinforced just how important the American Heart Association’s work is, from funding critical research that improves patient outcomes to supporting healthier communities. I’m honored to help continue that mission across the Greater Triad.”
His family’s journey continues to inspire his dedication to helping others and strengthening the communities we call home.
Leading the American Heart Association’s Work Across the Greater Triad
As Board Chair, David will help guide the American Heart Association’s strategic priorities throughout the Greater Triad, working alongside healthcare leaders, volunteers, corporate partners, and community organizations to improve cardiovascular health and reduce deaths from heart disease and stroke.
The American Heart Association’s work extends far beyond hospitals and research labs. Across the Greater Triad, the organization impacts more than 350,000 community members through programs that:
- Train individuals in CPR and emergency response
- Expand access to blood pressure monitoring
- Support maternal health initiatives
- Improve nutrition security
- Advocate for healthier public policies
- Partner with schools and healthcare systems to prevent heart disease and stroke
These initiatives help create healthier families and stronger communities throughout our region.
