David Daggett Begins New Term on Wake Forest University School of Law Board of Visitors

Daggett Shuler managing partner David Daggett, a 1985 Wake Forest Law graduate, has been appointed to serve another term on the Wake Forest School of Law Board of Visitors to support the next generation of legal professionals.

For more than four decades, David has dedicated his career to helping North Carolina individuals and families navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges. Now, he is continuing his commitment to service and leadership in this role.

Supporting the Future of Legal Education

The Law Board of Visitors brings together experienced leaders from the legal, business, nonprofit, and community sectors. Members provide insight and expertise to help Wake Forest Law strengthen its academic programs, expand opportunities for students, and prepare graduates for an evolving legal profession.

The board also plays an important role in connecting students with internships and career opportunities while supporting fundraising efforts that advance the law school’s mission.

For David, returning to the board is an opportunity to give back to an institution that played an important role in his own professional journey.

“Wake Forest Law played a pivotal role in my development as an attorney and leader,” said Daggett. “It’s a privilege to give back to a school that has given so much to me. I look forward to supporting the law school’s mission and helping create opportunities for students as they prepare to enter the legal profession.”

David previously served on the Law Board of Visitors. His renewed appointment reflects his longstanding relationship with Wake Forest Law, as well as his professional experience and commitment to legal education and community service.

Bringing Decades of Legal Experience to the Board

David has more than 40 years of experience representing individuals and families in personal injury, wrongful death, and insurance claims matters.

His work has given him a firsthand understanding of the challenges people face when dealing with serious injuries, loss, and complicated legal and insurance issues. That experience also provides valuable perspective as Wake Forest Law prepares students to serve clients and communities in an increasingly complex legal environment.

Through his service on the Law Board of Visitors, David will help strengthen the connection between legal education and the changing needs of the legal profession.

A Commitment to Service Beyond the Courtroom

David’s dedication to leadership extends well beyond his legal practice.

An accomplished endurance athlete, he has completed more than 225 triathlons, including 35 Ironman competitions and 10 Hawaii Ironman World Championships. His commitment to discipline and service is also reflected in Safe Sober, the teen enrichment program he founded.

Now in its 36th year, Safe Sober reflects David’s belief that meaningful leadership involves more than professional accomplishments. It also means investing time and energy in the people and communities around us.
