Daggett Shuler’s Thailer Buari to Discuss The Black Philanthropy Initiative on Triad Today

Thailer Buari on Triad Today

On January 26th, attorney Thailer Buari of Daggett Shuler Law will appear on Triad Today with David Daggett and Griff Shuler to discuss the Black Philanthropy Initiative (BPI) with host Jim Longworth. Triad Today airs locally on Saturdays at 7:30am on WXLV ABC45 and Sundays at 11am on WMYV My48.

A graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, Thailer is the newest attorney at Daggett Shuler Law. He has been with the firm since 2013, and currently handles personal injury claims.

About the Black Philanthropy Initiative

Launched by the Winston-Salem Foundation in 2007, the BPI supports organizations providing education, financial literacy, parenting skills, and life-skills programs in the black communities of Winston-Salem and the greater Forsyth County area through direct grant funding. Daggett Shuler Law encourages the Triad Community to support the philanthropic works of this organization.

The BPI weighs the merits of each grant application individually—making sure funding recipients can do the most good in the community based on their field of expertise. Their list of funding recipients includes Authoring Action, Exchange/SCAN, the Experiment in Self-Reliance, Forsyth Technical Community College, and Winston-Salem Delta Fine Arts.

Group Leadership

The BPI is led by a group of African-American volunteers who acknowledge the traditions of sharing in the black community and seek to expand these models of charitable giving through education and engagement. The BPI is guided by prominent leaders in the community—including Mr. Buari, who chairs the Governance committee.

An article on the mission, goals, and work of the BPI—written by our own David Daggett—appears in the January 2019 issue of Black Business Ink. This magazine addresses the needs and celebrates the achievements of the local black business community. More on the publication is available here.
