Daggett Shuler attorneys David Daggett and Griff Shuler appeared on Triad Today to highlight the Smiley Triathlon Festival and share their perspectives on current issues during the Round Table discussion.
Daggett Shuler attorneys David Daggett and Griff Shuler recently joined Triad Today host Jim Longworth alongside Village of Clemmons Mayor Mike Rogers. David and Griff first discussed the upcoming Smiley Triathlon Festival, which is one of the Triad’s premier community events, and later stayed for the show’s popular Round Table segment, where they weighed in on several timely topics making headlines.
Celebrating the Smiley Triathlon Festival
The segment began with a conversation about the Smiley Triathlon Festival, which features:
- The 23rd Annual Kids for Kids Triathlon on Saturday
- The Smiley Sprint Triathlon for adults on Sunday
Named in honor of the late Richard Smiley, a respected local athlete, fitness advocate, and community leader, the festival has become a cherished tradition that promotes healthy living and brings families together from across the region.
David explained that the event is about much more than racing: “We’ve created iconic events with the partnership with the Village of Clemmons.”
He also recognized the tremendous support of Mayor Mike Rogers, the Village of Clemmons, the Clemmons West Recreation Association, volunteers, and countless community partners who help make the event a success year after year.
Every Participant Matters
Griff spoke about the role Daggett Shuler plays during race weekend.
“Our Safe Sober/Daggett Shuler team is there at the finish line greeting every participant,” Griff shared. “David calls out their names, and we celebrate every person who crosses the finish line.”
That welcoming atmosphere is part of what makes the festival so special. Whether participants are experienced triathletes or taking on their very first race, everyone is encouraged and celebrated.
Mayor Rogers also shared what it means to have a nationally recognized event in Clemmons, noting the pride the community takes in hosting thousands of athletes, volunteers, and spectators each year.
Joining the Triad Today Round Table
After discussing the triathlon festival, David and Griff remained on set for Triad Today’s Round Table, where they joined Jim Longworth and Ogie Overman for a lively conversation about several issues in the news.
The discussion covered a variety of topics, including proposed changes to daylight saving time, military health policies, updates to North Carolina’s ski safety laws, political advertising in movie theaters, and other current events.
