Suspected DWI Driver Facing Murder Charges After Deadly Accident

Ambulance driving fast

A 30-year-old Greensboro man has been charged with murder after fatally hitting a 38-year-old Greensboro woman. The victim was waiting at a bus stop on Lees Chapel Road when the driver hit a utility pole, the victim, and then a tree before stopping. More information about the investigation can be found here.

While the victim died at the scene, the driver was taken to Moses Cone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was initially charged with driving left of center, driving with a revoked license, and misdemeanor death by vehicle. Those charges have since been updated to second-degree murder, felony death by vehicle, and driving while impaired. He is currently being held in the Guilford County Jail under a $1 million bond.
