On Saturday, December 16th, attorneys David Daggett and Griff Shuler appeared onย Triad Today with Bill Gibbs, Director of the Frosty 50 Trail Races. Learn more about the exciting upcoming race events that benefit local charities in the segment:
The Frosty 50 Trail Races will be taking place at Salem Lake on January 5th and 6th, 2024. Several events are slated across both days:
2024 marks the 25th anniversary of the entire event. The Gwynโs Grace 50K relay was added more recently, in memory of Gwyn Gibbs Corum, Mr. Gibbsโ sister, who sadly lost her battle with breast cancer in 2021.
The Frosty 50 events make for a full day of fun. Not only will you get to see impressive athleticism; the fun atmosphere really involves the whole community. Participants and onlookers have the opportunity to tailgate and cheer everyone on, accompanied by delicious food and drinks.
The weekend isnโt just about having fun, though โ proceeds from the Frosty 50 Trail Races benefit two wonderful local organizations. The first is the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem, which serves families living with Down Syndrome in the Triad through a variety of ways, from educational programming to raising public awareness, to even helping to find job opportunities. The other organization that benefits from the event is the Winston-Salem Street School, which serves at-risk youth in a private alternative high school setting. Giving back to the community is a critical part of the Frosty 50 Trail Racesโ mission.
If youโd like to participate in the races, there is still time to register! Click here to submit your registration prior to January 1st, 2024. Attorney David Daggett will emcee the event, as he has done for many years, and he will be sure to give each and every participant a championship reception at the finish line!
Later in the episode, David also participated in the Roundtable discussion with David Briggs and Keith Grandberry. They talked about current news items and political issues.
