Attorneys David Daggett and Griff Shuler Appear on Fox 8 News to Discuss Safe Sober Prom Night

On the morning of Thursday, April 16th, Daggett Shuler Law attorneys David Daggett and Griff Shuler appeared on Fox 8 News to discuss the 25th Annual Safe Sober Prom Night campaign. Now in its 25th year, Safe Sober Prom Night reaches out to young people in 47 high schools in 11 counties all across the Piedmont Triad and encourages them to make the responsible decision to abstain from drugs and alcohol on their prom night.

During the annual Safe Sober Prom Night campaign, student participants sign a pledge to ‘Do It Right’ and stay drug and alcohol free during their prom night. We are happy to report that Safe Sober Prom Night has now reached over 500,000 students with its message of promoting positive peer pressure to reduce underage drinking and drug use!

David and Griff spoke with hostess Cindy Farmer on the Fox 8 Morning Show about how it feels to have reached such a major milestone with the program, the impact it has had on the community, and several other important topics.

In this segment, attorney David Daggett discusses some changes he has observed from the early days of the program, compared with where it is today.

“25 years ago, I had to walk the students up to the table, to make them sign the pledge. It was not a ‘cool’ thing to do back then. You should see them now. When the bell rings for lunch, you better get out of the way! It’s a stampede of students to take the t-shirt and sign the pledge. Some of them immediately put the t-shirt on. It’s now become a badge of honor for the kids. They’re proud that they are doing this.”
