Does Every Employer have to carry Workers’ Compensation Insurance?

Does Every Employer have to carry Workers’ Compensation Insurance?

No. State law generally provides exceptions for very small companies. In addition, self-employed people and independent contractors are generally not covered under Workers’ Compensation law. Federal employees are covered under the federal Workers’ Compensation system. But for employers that are legally required to carry insurance, failure to carry it could result in penalties from the state, as well as lawsuits from injured employees.

Tori was very helpful and it was a pleasure to have her handle my case. It was her hard work that the process was very short. Thank you so much!
