Does Every Employer have to carry Workers’ Compensation Insurance?

No. State law generally provides exceptions for very small companies. In addition, self-employed people and independent contractors are generally not covered under Workers’ Compensation law. Federal employees are covered under the federal Workers’ Compensation system. But for employers that are legally required to carry insurance, failure to carry it could result in penalties from the state, as well as lawsuits from injured employees.

They went above and beyond for me and my family to help us with my workers’ compensation case. I highly recommend Griff Shuler; he stayed in constant contact with me even during my hospital stay and he is truly in it to fight for you. That’s why if I ever need a lawyer again, I’ll call them.
