Joining David for this segment will be Brent Bennett, a member of the PDSSN. The two will discuss a recent name changeโas the PDSSN is now the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem (DSA of GWS). From the group’s official Facebook page:
“Our big news is officially here: a new organizational name and logo! We are now the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem. Over the next several weeks, we will be announcing several exciting events and a brand-new website.”
3-2-1 Deacon Dash
David and Brent are excited to promote the upcoming 3-2-1 Deacon Dash, which David will announce and Daggett Shuler Law proudly sponsors. This 5K race with an extra .11 mile added helps to raise awareness and support for individuals in our community with Down Syndrome. The 3.21 mile total distance is for the awareness and support of individuals with Down syndrome. Most people have 2 copies of 23 different chromosomes but individuals with Down syndrome are born with 3 copies of the 21st chromosome.ย The eventโnow in its fourth yearโtakes place on Saturday, March 30th at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. Online registration closes on Tuesday, March 26th.
