David Daggett Recently Awarded All Pace Finishers from the We Care 5k at Saint Peter’s Church and World Outreach Center

In November David was honored to join the Saint Peter’s Church and World Outreach Center at their 1st annual We Care 5k. He MC’d the event and was recently asked to come back to the church to assist in announcing awards and presentations.

At the service, all participants from the congregation were recognized, and all place finishers came forward for recognition. Pastor James C. Hash, Jr. later asked David Daggett to come forward for three special presentations and a quick address to the congregation.

Just as he did on race day, David emphasized with passion and excitement that “this is your day!” at Saint Peters Church and “this is your day!” for our Lord. He explained that just like on race day each and every person receives a “championship finish reception” and as we all gather in church we also prepare for the “ultimate championship reception.”

David presented multiple awards throughout the morning and was honored to present an award to the assistant pastor Jayson Sloan who placed for his age group. For the last but highest awards presented, Bishop James C. Hash, Jr. and Mrs. Joyce Hash were awarded the leadership awards for their vision, encouragement, and support.

Although now in their 70s, Mrs. Joyce Hash participated in the 1 mile fun run and Bishop James C. Hash participated in the full 5K event, noting at the finish line that he finished in front of a number of members of his congregation.

David explained, “This was quite an honor to be able to participate with the Saint Peter’s congregation in their ongoing efforts to have a positive impact in the community through their “We Care” program to provide food for the less fortunate members of our community.”

The We Care House is an outreach of Saint Peter’s church aiming to meet the physical needs of the people by giving food and clothing to church members, visitors and the community. This organization has touched thousands of lives and continues to grow and spread love throughout the community each day.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the We Care 5k and continues to work with this amazing organization in order to better our community!
