70% of Applicants for Social Security Disability Benefits in North Carolina Are Initially Denied

Receiving Social Security Disability benefits is critical for disabled workers that are dealing with mounting medical bills and no wages. However, getting the Social Security Disability you need can be very difficult, complicated, and frustrating. An applicant can face many obstacles when it comes to receiving the benefits they deserve in North Carolina.

At Daggett Shuler Law, our goal is to create awareness and education about the Social Security Disability application process. We want to help disabled workers in North Carolina understand this process.

Will My SSDI Claim be Successful?

Within the last three to four years, the burden of proving a Social Security Disability claim has become even more strict for disabled workers. The criteria that is used by the government to determine if someone is medically disabled is being scrutinized at a much higher level than ever before.

In North Carolina, more than 70% of initial Social Security Disability applications are denied.

If the initial SSDI claim is denied, there is a long and complex appeals process that we will discuss in a future post. One of the most important things to remember is that having your initial claim denied does not mean that you may not be eligible to receive Social Security Disability benefits. At Daggett Shuler Law, we can take care of all the paperwork for your appeal.

If you or a loved one is medically disabled and unable to work, or has questions about applying for Social Security Disability benefits, call Daggett Shuler Law at 336-724-1234.

When you call, you will receive a FREE consultation at the direction of our experienced, Board-Certified Social Security Disability attorney. We will investigate your situation at no cost to you, and we don’t get paid unless we help you WIN your case.
