On Saturday, June 20th, attorneys David Daggett and Griff Shuler of Daggett Shuler Law appeared on Triad Today with special guest Dr. Angela Hairston, Superintendent of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. Watch the segment:
As the 2019-2020 school year wraps up, something everyone can agree on is that providing our children with a good education is essential. With the current state of affairs, we’re all finding new ways to support learning in many forms.
Dr. Hairston spoke to this, stating that the last few months of this school year were a “practice run” in terms of figuring out what learning will look like in the Triad going forward. The school system is gathering feedback from teachers and parents alike to gauge what worked and what didn’t work for them. Teachers are also receiving training for further online learning in the fall. The next school year will look different, with a mix of both in-person learning and virtual education likely.
Daggett Shuler’s partnership with Triad area schools is a point of pride for David Daggett and Griff Shuler. The Safe Sober Prom Night program is just one way that Daggett Shuler helps to support local students. This year’s program was adjusted in light of the pandemic, but David Daggett and Griff Shuler made sure that all the graduating students got their t-shirts with their diplomas. David talked about the fact that students thrive with support from the community, and how it is important to support them now more than ever.
Griff Shuler emphasized the value of a good public education. When a community supports their public schools, they make an investment in the future. Strong academics, paired with plenty of guidance from the community, is a recipe that leads to students’ success.
Later in the episode, David Daggett also participated in the Roundtable discussion with Ogi Overman and Keith Grandberry. They talked about current national issues and news items. Watch the video:
