The team at Daggett Shuler, Attorneys at Law is committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and the overall wellness of the Triad community particularly when it comes to warning teens about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.  When people choose to use drugs or alcohol, the health of our entire community suffers.  Over 30 years ago, when David Daggett was a young attorney, he saw the aftermath of the poor decisions that young people made around drugs and alcohol and created Safe Sober Prom Night. The initiative, which reached over 600,000 teens over 30 years, grew so big, that it evolved into a larger initiative, now known simply as Safe Sober, to continue and expand its impact on the youth of the Triad in North Carolina.

Now in its 3rd decade, Safe Sober works to combat destructive behaviors that impact us all. The Safe Sober Program works by creating awareness of the dangers of drug and alcohol consumption. By educating our youth about these potential dangers, Daggett Shuler strives to improve the health of our community.  The program encourages students to sign a pledge card agreeing to remain sober and make good decisions. In return for making that pledge, students are given a t-shirt proclaiming to their peers that they have pledged to be drug and alcohol free.

How do I take the Safe Sober Pledge?

Go to safesober.com and take the pledge online. If your school is not currently participating, but you would like to get involved, contact your administration. They can contact our Program Director, Kathryn Vernon, at Daggett Shuler, Attorneys at Law by calling 336-724-1234 or by sending an email to SafeSober@DaggettShulerLaw.com

I have a T-shirt design for the Safe Sober Program. How do I submit it?

The program runs a contest for high school students to submit original designs, with one to be selected for the following year’s shirt. The student must attend one of our participating high schools. The individual chosen will receive a $1000 scholarship and their school will receive a $1000 grant. To enter, simply complete our online form or mail your entry to:
