On February 21st 2013 the Olaxx Corp announced a voluntary recall of their popular weight loss supplement Maxiloss Weight Advanced Softgels. These diet pills contain the drug Sibutramine which is not included on the products list of ingredients. Sibutramine was previously used as a controlled substance for the treatment of obesity, however it was removed from the US Market in October 2010 because of the drugs potentially life-threatening side-effects.
Sibutramine can significantly increase a user’s blood pressure and pulse rate. This drug also poses a substantial risk to people who have a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and strokes. Many people may not know that they have a history of these health problems until symptoms arise; this makes Subutramine extremely unsafe to consumers.
The Maxiloss recall includes all lot numbers of the product that have previously been sold. There have also been several counterfeit and imposter brands of this supplement sold illegally on several online drug sites. Consumers are urged to stop taking this supplement immediately, as both the Authentic supplements as well as all counterfeit lots are deemed hazardous.
Maxiloss Weight Advanced Softgels were marketed as an “all natural” and “safe” herbal supplement for weight loss. These pills are packed in a green or blue box including 3 X 12 blister packs of pills, with the phrase “Batch Number: 001” printed on the package. These supplements were available at distributors across The United states between January 2011 to November 2012. There are known to be several counterfeit versions of this supplement with varying packaging. Both legitimate and counterfeit varieties are considered unsafe, and consumers should stop using and discard these supplements at once.
Consumers with questions about this recall can contact the Olaax Corporation at 1-863-648-9581, Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, EST.
