Passed in summer 2022, the Camp Lejeune Justice Act allows those affected by the toxic water supply at Camp Lejeune to file claims to receive compensation for specific medical issues that resulted from exposure.
Trichloroethylene (TCE), Perchloroethylene (PCE), benzene, vinyl chloride, and other toxic compounds were found in two on-base wells. The wells were shut down in 1985, but the effects were long-lasting.
