Is There a Lawsuit Crisis in Our Country?

Did you know that there really is not a lawsuit crisis stemming from injury cases or cases brought by individuals? I’m North Carolina attorney David Daggett.

There’s a perception that there’s a lawsuit crisis in our country. We hear it in the news media. We hear it from politicians, and we hear it on TV commercials from insurance companies. The truth is there has been a growth of busyness in our courthouses over recent years, but that increase in number of cases is mainly from an increase in the number of criminal cases, an increase in the number of domestic cases, and an increase in the number of cases of companies against other companies.

However, did you know that in recent years there’s actually been a decrease in the number of cases that are brought by injured people? So, please help others to understand that any courthouse crisis or lawsuit crisis that you hear about in North Carolina or even the country at large, is not coming from injured people from car accidents and things like that. That simply is not true. Statistically, the number of those cases has actually gone down
over the years.

Thank you for joining us to learn a little bit more about our legal system.

Very happy with the results Daggett Shuler and the entire staff got for me from my workers’ compensation, disability, and my personal injury cases. Strongly recommend they handle any legal needs you may have.
